Last Chef Standing star Mika Leon on a different show 10 years earlier

FOOD Network fans have discovered star Mika Leon actually appeared on the channel a decade before competing on 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing.

Before joining the new series, which aired its Season 1 finale on Sunday night, the chef was a contestant on Guy’s Grocery Games in 2014.

As the name suggests, 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing centers on 24 chefs competing in various challenges over a 24-hour period.

The new show, which is hosted by Michael Symon and Esther Choi, premiered last month and wrapped up its first season on Sunday.

Mika was one of the competitors, and she finished the season in fourth place.

Marcel Vigneron was the Season 1 winner of 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing.

After watching Mika throughout the season, one Food Network fan recognized her while going back to watch old episodes of a Guy Fieri series.

She made an appearance on Guy’s Grocery Games during the show’s second season, competing in episode 4.

The series, which is now in its 36th season, began back in 2013.

FOOD NETWORK DEBUT

Each broadcast centers on four chefs competing against one another in cooking challenges using ingredients they have to pick up themselves in a grocery store with various restrictions thrown in.

For Mika’s episode, titled Cut the Cheese, she went up against Connie Ruel, Salvatore Boscarello, and Kermit Griffin.

Connie was eliminated in Round 1, which saw the chefs making mac and cheese dishes.

Round 2, a chicken dinner, found Kermit being sent home.

Mika made it to the Top 2 with Salvatore, but she was eliminated in the final round, which was centered on making a romantic meal.

While Mika didn’t win, she went on to compete on an episode of Beat Bobby Flay in 2019, and on both Wildcard Kitchen and 24 in 24: Last Chef standing this year.

RECOGNIZING MIKA

The Season 1 finale of 24 in 24 aired on Sunday night, and one fan shared that same day that they had just noticed Mika in the old episode of Guy’s Grocery Games.

“Baby Mika spotted in GGG season 2 episode 4,” the online forum user wrote alongside with a clip. “She’s adorable and so young.”

Other fans couldn’t believe how young Mika looked and that she had been on Food Network a decade before her most recent show.

“I knew how long the show has been on for, but I had no idea how long the show has been on for,” one fan joked about Guy’s Grocery Games having been on for years now.

“How cute is that,” another fan said about the clip of Mika. “Good eye!!!”

“She was so cute this young,” a third viewer commented.

“Cool! I thought she looked familiar,” one Food Network fan shared, while another one wrote, “I love her and she did really well on 24 in 24.”
