Unpopular opinion: In-N-Out is overrated. It’s good, but it’s not THAT good. Especially not “fly across the country from Boston to LA and back within 24 hours” good. Which is exactly what I did. We don’t have an In-N-Out anywhere near New England, so I had to make the trip.

Apologies on message up the buns. It happens. Perhaps it was too cold. Perhaps it was bad yeast. Or, maybe I just measured incorrectly. Ingredient list is below and should work perfectly if you have proper yeast and a warm room to rest.

Buns:
2 tbsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups flour
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp water

Animal Sauce
1/2 cup mayo
3 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp relish
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp vinegar
1 tbsp caramelized onions
