SONOMA COUNTY — Sonoma chef Casey Thompson, who is currently Executive Chef at three-time Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Folktable Restaurant, will appear on the current season of one of Guy Fieri’s shows, Guy’s Grocery Games.
Thompson is already a cooking show standout, having been a finalist who earned the “Fan Favorite” distinction on the third season of Top Chef.
Back then, she was working in her home state of Texas at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. After her Top Chef success, Thompson traveled the world learning new cooking techniques in places like Thailand and Argentina, eventually becoming a brand ambassador for an Argentine wine.
Landing in the Bay Area, Thompson “cooked her way through wine country, learning the art of pairing freshly farmed foods with terroir-driven wines,” according to her restaurant bio.
Earlier this year, Thompson competed in season 5 of Guy’s Tournament of Champions. Her next challenge is Guy’s Grocery Games.
Folktable’s menu is seasonal, fortified by its onsite certified organic farm, Tank House Farms. Right now, appetizers include frizzled artichoke hearts, flame seared shishito peppers, and hot fennel oil seared zucchini carpaccio. The soups and salads choices include spring panzanella, and chilled spring green pea and smoked ham soup. Main courses offer a variety of vegetarian and protein choices. Fish lovers can choose ahi, branzino and Maine lobster. There are various presentations of chicken, a shaved port sandwich, and for beef lovers a brisket burger.
Watch Guy’s Grocery Games, affectionately called Triple-G, on Food Network.
